Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Law at Emory Law School, Founding Director of the AI and Future of Work Program, and the former Associate Dean for Projects and Partnerships

Dr. Ifeoma Ajunwa, J.D., LL.M, Ph.D.,  an award-winning tenured law professor, is the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Law at Emory Law School, Founding Director of the AI and Future of Work Program, and the former Associate Dean for Projects and Partnerships. In 2026, she received The Provost’s Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Education. She was also named among the top 50 legal innovators in academia in 2026. Dr. Ajunwa is an expert in AI Law and Privacy Law and has testified before the U.S. Congress, advised U.S. governmental agencies like the FTC and the EEOC, and worked with international bodies like the ILO and OECD. Her prolific publication history includes her first book, The Quantified Worker, published in 2023 by Cambridge University Press, which focuses on AI technologies in the workplace. Her second book, The Oxford Handbook on Algorithmic Governanceand the Law (co-authored with Prof. Jeremias Adams-Prassl) was published by Oxford University Press in 2025. She has also published nearly 30 articles in both top law review and high impact factor peer review publications. She is an engaged public intellectual who has published op-eds in the NYTimes, Washington Post, The Atlantic, Forbes, Slate, Harvard Business Review, etc. She has also provided legal commentary for National Public Radio (NPR), The Guardian, CNN, Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, etc. She is a regular keynote speaker and has been invited for panels (including at SXSW) and endowed lectures at universities and corporations in both the United States and internationally. She has served as ethical tech advisory board member and consulted for Fortune 500 tech companies. Dr. Ajunwa is a graduate of Yale Law School (LL.M.) and Columbia University (Ph.D.).

Ajunwa’s recent law review publications include “The Artificial Intelligence Commission” (Georgetown Law Journal), “Provenance” (UCLA Law Review), and “AI and Captured Capital” (Yale Law Journal forum). She has also been published in the California Law Review, Fordham Law Review, Northwestern Law Review, and the top specialty journals for her field including the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, Harvard Journal of Law & Technology, the Berkely Journal of Technology, and the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law. Cheng-chi “Kirin” Chang (張正麒) is a Research Fellow at the U.S.-Asia Law Institute of NYU School of Law and an Affiliated Fellow at NYU Law’s Information Law Institute. He is also an Affiliate Research Fellow of the AI and the Future of Work Program at Emory University School of Law, where he previously served as Associate Director & Academic Fellow. His research asks how the law should govern new technologies, and how those technologies are reshaping legal practice. He works across AI, privacy, intellectual property, and international and comparative law, writing to help lawyers and technologists understand each other. His scholarship has appeared or is forthcoming, in print and online, in journals such as the Stanford Law Review, the New York University Law Review, the UCLA Law Review, the Georgetown Law Journal, the Minnesota Law Review, the University of Illinois Law Review, the Wisconsin Law Review, the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology, the Stanford Technology Law Review, the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law, and the Georgetown Journal of International Law, among others.

Alongside his scholarship, Chang builds free, open-source legal technology, including cite.review, a citation verifier that catches AI-hallucinated authorities, and the LawReview.Tools suite for Bluebook citation workflows. He previously worked in legal and compliance roles at multinational companies such as Volkswagen Group, Nestlé, Merck Sharp & Dohme, and Boehringer Ingelheim, and served as a Law Research Associate at Tsinghua University’s Institute for Studies on AI & Law in Beijing. He received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he attended on a full scholarship and was Senior Articles Editor of the Journal of Technology Law and Policy, and holds an LL.B., magna cum laude, from National Chung Hsing University School of Law in Taiwan. He is admitted to the New York and Texas Bars. A native Mandarin speaker fluent in English and Hokkien, Chang enjoys playing badminton in his free time.

Yinn-Ching Lu
SJD Student and Research Scholar, AI and the Future of Work

Yinn-Ching Lu is a legal scholar focusing on constitutional law and technology law from an interdisciplinary perspective. He holds a Master of Laws from The University of Chicago Law School, a Master of Laws from National Taiwan University, and a Bechlor of Laws from National Chengchi University. He is currently an Doctoral candidate at Emory University School of Law. His recent works focus on Artificial Intelligence Regulation and the practices of the Taiwan Constitutional Court. He served as a law clerk at the Taiwan Constitutional Court from 2021 to 2023 and practiced as an attorney in Taiwan from 2018 to 2021.

Scott Worland
Head of Engineering at Norm Ai; Visiting Research Fellow, AI and the Future of Work

Scott Worland, PhD, serves as Head of Engineering at Norm AI, an NYC-based software company that automates regulatory compliance for large enterprises through AI. He brings over a decade of experience building AI systems across academia, government, and industry sectors. Scott earned his doctorate in engineering from Vanderbilt University with research focused on physics-guided machine learning. His career includes postdoctoral research at Cornell University, 5 years as an ML researcher with the federal government, and 6 years building enterprise-grade software and leading engineering teams. At Norm AI, he directs engineering initiatives that develop advanced software solutions based on computational law principles. At Emory, Scott collaborates with Emory Law School faculty to create hands-on experiences for students building custom AI systems for complex legal workflows.
